Hobson & Porter, Innovation based on tradition

Ben Hanson of H&P has won first prize for brickwork at the annual Hull College Construction Awards Ceremony.

The awards were presented to the students judged to be the best learner in each course. Keith Baldry, the college's course tutor for CITB construction apprentices, said "Ben is a model student who always gives 100%. Because of his outstanding performance we have entered him in the Guild of Bricklayers Competition at Barnsley College in April. We put Ben into the higher level NVQ3 category in the competition because we have so much confidence in his ability. He has demonstrated that he can methodically problem solve and interpret drawings, and we are confident he will do well".
