Client: Yorkshire Housing
Contract: Caesar Court & Paventia House, York
Year: 2005
Value: £2,500,000
Caesar Court & Paventia House is a £2.5m Design & Build contract comprised of a mixed use housing scheme including 23 two bedroomed flats, and supported housing unit with communal facilities.
The brief from Yorkshire Housing highlighted a number of issues such as sustainability, innovation, landscaping and lighting, set within their mission statement - "To provide an innovative and customer focussed housing service, and contribute to the development and maintenance of sustainable communities in Yorkshire".
This was a challenging project because it was a tight site in a residential location and there was a variety of different materials used, including copper and slate (roof), brickwork, cladding and specialist items of joinery. The residential element of the scheme had to be of the highest quality, as the units were to be sold in the open market as luxury apartments.
In November 2006 the project was Commended at the RIBA Awards in Leeds.
